Cyst is actually an abnormal mass of tissue that form when cells divide more than they should or do not die when the cells that should have died. This abnormal mass in medical terms is called neoplasm. It could either be benign (not cancerous) or otherwise malignant (cancerous). Neoplasms called tumor.
